Dr. Derek brings a uniquely diverse background and a lifelong commitment to health, movement, and service. Raised in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, he grew up skiing by age two, mountain biking by four, and rock climbing by seven. His passion for athletics and human performance led him into a five-year career as a professional skateboarder in Southern California during his late teens.
Before becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Derek served his community in multiple healthcare and emergency roles. He worked as an EMT on a mountain rescue team in Aspen and on ambulance crews, gaining invaluable experience in acute care and high-pressure environments. He went on to serve five years as a medic in the United States Coast Guard, working with a security boarding team in South Florida and later in a New Jersey hospital during the Covid pandemic.
Dedicated to exceptional patient care, Dr. Derek has completed extensive training through MLS and Kairos seminars and participated in a chiropractic mission trip to the Dominican Republic and the Haitian border. His passion for functional medicine is fueled by ongoing education through Apex Energetics seminars and daily study of health, wellness, and human physiology. Dr. Derek strives to empower every patient with personalized, evidence-informed care—whether through chiropractic adjustments, functional medicine insights, or a comprehensive approach to whole-body healing.
